1. Types of Nepal Visas

A. Tourist Visa (On-Arrival & Online Application)

B. Gratis (Free) Visa

  • SAARC countries (Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Pakistan, Sri Lanka) – First 30 days free per year.

Visa Extension

  • Can be extended at the Department of Immigration, Kathmandu or Pokhara Immigration Office.
  • Cost: USD 3 per day after the visa expires.
  • Minimum extension: 15 days (cost: USD 45).

Overstay Fine

  • Up to 30 days overstay: USD 5 per day plus the visa extension fee.
  • Beyond 30 days: Additional penalties and potential deportation.

5. Additional Notes

  • Multiple Entries: All tourist visas are multiple-entry by default.
  • Transit Visa: USD 5 for 24 hours, available at Kathmandu Airport.
  • No Visa Required for Indians: Indians can travel with a passport or voter ID.

6. How to Apply for a Nepal Visa?

A. On Arrival (For Most Travelers)

  3. Proceed to the immigration counter for visa stamping.

B. Online Visa (Pre-Arrival Application)

  3. Print the confirmation receipt.
