Day 1

After having breakfast in Kathmandu, you will depart from your domestic departure with your crew for the flight to Lukla. But in peak seasons, the flight will take off from Manthali Airport in Ramechhap. After the short flight to Lukla, your trekking journey to Phakding starts. You will be trekking along the riverbanks of the Dudh Koshi River through Cheplung and Ghat to reach Phakding after a 4-hour trek. Trekking is easy at this point. You will be resting overnight at the lodge in Phakding village.

Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m)

After having breakfast early in the morning at Phakding, you will start off the journey of the day. You will keep walking along the banks of the Dudh Kosi, passing the gorgeous river several times on thrilling suspension bridges that have been covered with praying banners. As your journey to the mountains continues, you will finally enter the Sagamatha National Park along the banks of the Bhote Koshi River. Then you will slowly cross the Tenzing Hillary Bridge to finally get a glimpse of Mount Everest at first sight. There is the opportunity to trek for a few hours to Sir Edmund Hillary's school in Khumjung village. There are many Sherpa monasteries in the village, and mountains surround you. At the end of the day, you will be returning to Namache Bazaar for dinner and sleep. Make sure your equipment is ready for the further trekking journey.

Today is the day you will reach one of the highest and most challenging destinations of the trek, Cho La Pass. The trek will begin before sunrise to avoid the bad weather and return as soon as you can with possible spare time to spend at the peak. Here at the vantage point, you will be right in the middle of the two most spectacular regions of the World; the Gokyo region and the Everest Region. After conquering Cho Lo Pass, you will further trek downward to reach Dzongla and settle down at the tea house at the village for an overnight stay and a nice warm dinner as the weather is usually chilling at these heights.
