A true gem in Thamel — especially for families trekking with young kids!

We first met Mr. Naba in 2023 when we came to Nepal to trek to Everest Base Camp with our 4-year-old twins. We popped into his office in Thamel looking for advice, and he welcomed us with such kindness and honesty. He gave us a wealth of information without ever pressuring us to hire a guide, and he took the time to answer all of our questions with care. He helped us sort out our permits, and booked our return flights to Lukla with ease.

While we were on the trek, he kept in touch with us via WhatsApp and offered continued support — even letting us know that if we ever changed our minds about needing a guide, he could have one meet us along the trail. That kind of thoughtfulness meant a lot to us as a family trekking with young kids.

Two years later (Feb 2025), we came back to Nepal and of course, went straight to visit Mr. Naba again — this time with plans to trek both Thorong La Pass and Annapurna Base Camp. Once again, he generously shared his knowledge, explaining how the route had changed due to the road, what weather we could expect, and which villages would be best to stay in. He was always just a message away, and never once made us feel like we were on our own.

Mr. Naba is an incredibly kind, considerate, and trustworthy person — the kind you feel lucky to know in a place like Thamel. Whether you’re planning to hire a guide, porter, book flights, or simply want advice from someone who truly cares, we can’t recommend him enough.

If you’re trekking with kids, especially, go talk to him before you hit the trail. He’ll set you up with everything you need and treat your family like his own.
