The star of the show is Mahon – you should ask for him as a guide and porter, he’s kind, thoughtful, flexible to your needs and attentive.
I did the Annapurna base camp trek over 6 nights and it’s an extraordinary experience, you stay in teahouses (not camping) and you get hot meals and actual beds meaning a proper night’s sleep every night. Naba, the owner of the company in Kathmandu, was clear about the route and helped with equipment as well as organising permits and everything else you need.
The cost of the trek is $350-400 all inclusive as of May 2026, plus you’ll pay for your own food on top ($15-20 a day) and a tip for the guide is expected (approx $50).
I would go again in a heart beat, just make sure you’re physically prepared and ready for 30 000 steps – it’s a great challenge and totally worth it for the awe of the scenery, the people you meet and the cultural experience in Pokhara.
There are other companies but I doubt you’ll get better service than through Dream Holidays – friendly, attentive and recommended.
One important recommendation for your own safety – make sure you clearly communicate with the jeep drivers (they are independent and not controlled nor contracted by Dream) about not overtaking at dangerous points on your journey.
This was a bucket list Dream for me and it far exceeded my expectations. You should just go do it!
